Learn what's inside the Roll Player Adventures Secret Envelope, how to use it, and why it was removed from later printings.
Quick Answer
The Secret Envelope contains a single-use envelope that resets your Roll Player Adventures game by hiding a special item or clue, intended for the first printing only.
Why Was the Secret Envelope Removed?
Due to high production costs, the Secret Envelope was removed from the second printing of Roll Player Adventures. All references to it were also removed from the game books, so newer copies do not include this component.
Is the Secret Envelope Essential for Gameplay?
No. The Secret Envelope is an optional extra piece that adds a small hidden element. The game is fully playable without it, and the second printing proves the experience is complete without this component.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What is inside the Secret Envelope?
- The envelope contains a hidden item or clue that players are meant to discover during the game. Opening it reveals a surprise that adds a small twist to your campaign.
- How do I use the Secret Envelope?
- Place the sealed envelope in your game box as instructed by the first printing rulebook. During the campaign, you'll be directed to open it at a specific moment. Do not peek before then. Keep the envelope sealed until the game tells you to open it.
- Can I use the Secret Envelope with the second printing?
- Technically yes, but the second printing's game books have no references to the envelope. You would need to decide when to open it yourself, and the surprise may not align with the intended narrative. It's designed for first printing copies only.
